CWI Board Member Recognized at Small Business Development Center Luncheon - November 30 2011

The Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center celebrated their 20th Annual Entrepreneurial Excellence Award Luncheon on November 17, 2011.  Known to many as E-Day, the luncheon took place at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza in Merrillville, where they recognized 12 individuals, companies, and advocates for their entrepreneurial spirit.

The Center of Workforce Innovations (CWI) was honored to have one of their own recognized.  Jim Jorgensen, CWI Board Member, was this year's recipient of the Garry Bradley Small Business Advocate of the Year Award.  Jorgensen, who is with the law firm of Hoeppner, Wagner & Evans, is considered a community leader and dedicated volunteer in Northwest Indiana.  A member of several bar associations including Indiana, Florida, Porter County and Lake County, he most recently joined the NW Indiana Business and Industry Hall of fame, an honor bestowed on those who have made a lasting contribution by their leadership and deeds to our region.

Additional recognitions and awards included Small Business Journalist of the Year, Woman-Owned Business of the Year, Small Business Financial Advocate of the Year, Minority-Owned Business of the Year, Emerging Business of the Year, Family-Owned Business of the Year, Revolutionary Technology Company of the Year, Small Business Person of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, and the NWI-SBDC Client of the Year.
