Indiana’s Career Ready campaign will begin its inaugural season April through July 2015. Beginning with the official statewide kick-off week (April 20-24), Career Ready aims to:
- Educate Hoosier students about the range of career options in Indiana;
- Expose Hoosier students of all ages to meaningful work-and-learn experiences;
- Equip Hoosier students with the education and skills required to succeed in their careers and meet Indiana’s economic needs.
The commitment is simple: an hour or two of your time as you share what your career is all about, and how it fits into Indiana’s economy. The pay-off is huge: “career ready” students who know what they want to do and how to get there, a stronger community, and a more vibrant economy for all Hoosiers.
Career Day (April 24)
Career Day is a great opportunity to get in the schools in your region and share your experience. Whether you present about your job, the sector you work in, or employability skills, students need to hear from you! See full information
Career Ready will focus on career sectors which are projected to be in high demand for Indiana’s economy (advanced manufacturing; agriculture, agribusiness & food; healthcare & life sciences; information technology & clean energy technology; and logistics). However, nearly all careers intersect with these sectors in some way. Be prepared to share how your career contributes to Indiana’s economic growth and what skills, aptitudes and educational pathways are essential.
